
Luedtke Named a Finalist for Two NCHC Awards

Luedtke named a finalist for the NCHC Senior Scholar-Athlete and Sportsmanship Awards
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Men's Hockey senior defenseman Josh Luedtke (Minnetonka, Minn.) was named a finalist for two National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) individual awards, as announced by the league on Thursday. Luedtke is a finalist for both the Senior Scholar-Athlete and the Sportsmanship Award. The winners will be announced on Thursday, March 20 at the NCHC Awards Celebration ahead of the 2025 NCHC Frozen Faceoff in St. Paul.
Luedtke, SCSU's 36th-all-time captain has scored two goals and five assists for seven points with one power play goal in 34 games this season. The Husky senior leads the team in blocks with a career-high 53, while his seven points rank third among all defensemen. Luedtke has been an integral part to SCSU's success over the past four seasons, helping the Huskies advance to two NCAA Tournament (2022, 2023) and win the NCHC Frozen Faceoff championship in 2023. In 136 career games, the Minnetonka native has produced 11 goals and 32 assists for 43 points with two power play goals, one shorthanded goal and one game-winning goal. On SCSU's all-time D-I scoring list, his 43 points rank 122nd.
Off the ice, Luedtke has experience much success in the classroom and is a class act in his community. In the classroom, Luedtke has maintained a 3.89 GPA as a Biomedical Science major. He has earned four NCHC Academic All-Conference, three AHCA All-American Scholar and NCHC Distinguished Scholar-Athlete honors and has been named a CSC Academic All-District honoree twice.
Luedtke was named a 2025 Hockey Humanitarian Award nominee for his devotion to the communities he has lived in throughout his hockey journey. The senior captain has given back to the sport he loves as a coach for youth players in his hometown, college town and internationally, teaching the sport of hockey at Impact Hockey in Minnetonka, at the Spencer Meier Hockey Camp in the St. Cloud area and in Hungary with Hockey Ministries International. Luedtke spent the 2024 summer as a personal care assistant with MRCI in Minnetonka, where he helped an individual with activities, time management and life skills. He has also served as a bible study leader for the SCSU men's hockey team and as a youth leader for Harvest Fellowship in Sauk Rapids.
