
St. Cloud State Men’s Soccer Fall 3-2 Against Truman State in Home Opener

Bulldogs score three unanswered goals in final 33 minutes
St. Cloud, Minn.- St. Cloud State Men's Soccer (1-1-0) dropped their first game of the season as they were defeated 3-2 against Truman State Sunday afternoon. The first half was a defensive battle between both teams as there were four total shots in the half. The teams went into the break tied 0-0. Coming out of the break, the Huskies struck first in the 50th minute. Diego Ramos came away with a defensive takeaway and dribbled the ball to the middle of the field. Ramos fired a pass to Andrés García who bolted into the box and fired a shot off his left foot that made its way into the goal as SCSU took a 1-0 lead. A minute later following a goal kick by the Huskies, Ryder Delport lofted a ball into Ramos who played it off the bounce and lost his defender off a spin move. Ramos worked his way into the box and fired a shot past the keeper as St. Cloud State took a 2-0 lead. Truman State responded six minutes later following a misplay by the Huskies. Tyler Bouckaert went top shelf for the goal as the Bulldogs cut the deficit in half. 10 minutes later, Jacob Panagos was fouled in the box, leading to a penalty kick. Panagos took the penalty kick and found the equalizer in the 67th minute. The game raged on with the score now being tied 2-2. Working the ball deep into the Huskies box, Mason Willier gave the Bulldogs the lead following a pass from Slayton Spencer which set him up in the 78th minute. St. Cloud State generated a chances in the final 12 minutes with multiple shots on goal, but they could not find the equalizer. The Huskies ultimately fell 3-2 in their home opener.

- Diego Ramos produced a three-point afternoon and tallied his second straight game with a point following a goal and an assist. Ramos played 69 minutes and totaled three shots with two landing on goal.
- Andrés García scored a goal for the second straight game. García played 71 minutes and notched one shot on goal.
