Huskies rally in both games to top Winona State
Game 1: SCSU 7, WIN 6
The Warriors would climb out to an early lead, scoring single runs in the first and second inning. In the first, a hit by pitch, single, and walk would load the bases. With two outs, a grounder resulted in a Husky error to open the scoring. In the second, it was another hit by pitch before an RBI double made it 2-0 Warriors.
The Huskies would tie the score in the bottom of the second. Senior Wyatt Tweet (Russell, Manitoba) opened the inning by hustling on a ground ball to shortstop and forcing an error. After a fielder's choice from redshirt senior Eric Bello (Manati, Puerto Rico) resulted in the first out, Bello stole second to move into scoring position. Sophomore Jonathan Pribula (Plymouth, Minn.) lined a single up the middle to drive in Bello and would eventually come around to score on an RBI groundout from redshirt junior Hayden Frank (St. Michael, Minn.).
Both teams would be held scoreless until the bottom of the fifth inning. Frank lined a one-out single to right field, moved to second on a groundout, and then went to third on a wild pitch. With two outs, freshman Ryan Cahoon (Northfield, Minn.) ripped a double to the right-center field gap to bring in Frank and give the Huskies the 3-2 lead.
The Warriors erased the lead in the sixth, scoring four times on an RBI single and three-run homer to take a 6-3 advantage. The Huskies were held scoreless in the bottom of the sixth, setting the stage for the seventh inning.
In the bottom of the frame, redshirt senior Liam Moreno (Sun Prairie, Wis.) led off with a single. He was followed by a base hit from Cahoon to put runners on the corners. Junior Wilmis Castro (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) made it 6-4 with an RBI single and was lifted for a pinch-runner. Tweet and Bello made it five straight hits for SCSU, both picking up RBI singles to tie the score at 6-6. After a Pribula single to load the bases, redshirt senior Josh McGuin (Toronto, Ontario) lifted a sacrifice fly to left field that was deep enough to score Tweet from third base and pick up the 7-6 walk-off win.

Winona State would again strike first in game two, capitalizing on six walks and just one hit to score four times in the top of the first inning. The Huskies would waste no time, however, answering back in the bottom of the frame.

That set up redshirt freshman Max Robinson (St. Michael, Minn.) for a three-run homer to give the Huskies the 5-4 lead in the first.
Frank would again start the offense in the second, leading off with a triple. Moreno lifted a fly ball to right field to score Frank, giving the Huskies an insurance run. Castro would add the final run in the fifth, launching a solo home run to put SCSU up 7-4.
