Women's Hoops Rolls to 2-0 with 85-67 Win Over Grand View

Des Moines, Iowa -- The St. Cloud State University women's basketball team made the trek to Des Moines, Iowa this evening to take on Grand View University in a non-conference match-up. The Huskies triumphed over the Vikings of Grand View University in an 85-67 final score.
Ahead by just eight at the half (40-32), Jessica Benson (Grand Meadow) went eight for ten shooting in the final twenty minutes, propelling the Huskies to lead by double-digits from the 12:00 mark on.
Four St. Cloud State players finished in double figures this evening. Benson led all players with 25 points and 10 rebounds, marking her first double-double of the season.
Emma Konopasek (De Pere, Wis.) finished with 11 points for the Huskies. Konopasek shot four of seven from the field and three of four at the line.
Carley Jeffery (Cambridge, Wis.) made two of three shots from three point range, finishing with 10 points. Jeffery dished out three assists.
Lexy Petermann (Fond du Lac, Wis.) marked her second double-digit performance of the season, finishing with 10 points and draining five of six shots from the free throw line.
Rachael Moen (Savage) finished with a team-high seven assists.
The Huskies shot 56% from the field in tonight's contest and made seven of 14 three-point attempts. Grand View finished the game shooting 48%.
St. Cloud State won the rebounding battle 29-21. The Huskies scored 23 points off of Grand View turnovers.
SCSU will return to action as they take on the University of Wisconsin-Stout on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 2 p.m. in Halenbeck Hall. Follow Saturday's game live at the following links:
