Women's basketball cruises to 83-59 win over UW-Stout

St. Cloud, Minn.-- The St. Cloud State women's basketball team cruised to a 83-59 non-conference win over the University of Wisconsin-Stout Saturday afternoon at Halenbeck Hall.
The Huskies improved to 3-0 and will host Dakota State University on Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 7 p.m.
UW-Stout dropped to 2-3 overall.
St. Cloud State senior guard Sam Price (Eau Claire, Wis.) scored the first basket of the game, a three, and the Huskies never trailed in the game.
Four players scored in double figures for St. Cloud State led by senior guard Rachael Moen (Savage) with 17 points to equal her career high. She also dished out a game high five assists.
Senior forward Jessica Benson (Grand Meadow) posted a double double with 11 points, 14 rebounds and six steals. Junior guard Carley Jeffery (Cambridge, Wis.) also had 11 points and first-year guard Chelsea Nooker (Green Bay, Wis.) had a season high 13 points as she went four-for-seven from the field and made all five of her free throw attempts.
St. Cloud State shot 43.1 percent from the field and out-rebounded the Blue Devils, 49-37.
UW-Stout was led by Kyleigh Hebert with 18 points and six rebounds. The Blue Devils shot 31.9 percent from the field.
"We got out of the gate well with a quick start," said head coach Lori Fish. "Our starters did a good job setting the tone for us."
The Huskies improved to 3-0 and will host Dakota State University on Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 7 p.m.
