SCSU Women's Basketball Falls to S.D. School of Mines in Overtime, 87-86

St. Cloud, Minn. - The St. Cloud State University women's basketball team (0-3) fell just short in overtime, 87-86, on Wednesday evening, Nov. 25, in a non-conference match-up against South Dakota School of Mines & Technology (3-1) at Halenbeck Hall.
The Huskies were outshot 48.4 to 46.4% from the field by the Hardrockers. St. Cloud State did hold a 44-31 advantage in rebounds. Throughout the match-up there were seven lead changes and the score was tied six different times.
Junior forward Chelsea Nooker (Green Bay, Wis.) recorded a triple-double with 19 points, 10 assists, and 13 rebounds. She made 9 of 15 shots from the field, while leading the team in both rebounds and assists. Nooker also tallied three blocks to lead the squad.
Senior forward Karissa LeCaptain (Algoma, Wis.) led the all players in scoring with 24 points. LeCaptain made 8 of 10 shots from the field, while ripping down eight rebounds.
Junior Lexy Petermann (Fond du Lac, Wis.) finished with a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds.
Junior guard Betsy MacDonald (St. Paul, Minn.) also reached double digits for the Huskies with 10 points.
Kahlie Peterson led the Hardrockers with 20 points and was one of five players to reach double figures for the visitors.
St. Cloud State returns to action Saturday, Nov. 28, as they take on the University of Minnesota-Duluth (0-3) at 2 p.m.
