St. Cloud, Minn. – The St. Cloud State University women's basketball team (1-3, 1-0 NSIC) traveled Duluth, Minn. this afternoon to take on the Bulldogs of the University of Minnesota-Duluth (0-4, 0-1 NSIC). The Huskies defeated UMD 65-53 in their first Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) match-up of the season for the program's first win of both the season and the conference slate.

The Huskies outrebound the Bulldogs 44-31 and forced 14 turnovers. St. Cloud State shot 40.6% from the field compare to Duluth's 35.3%.

Chelsea Nooker (Green Bay, Wis.) led the Huskies with a double-double. Nooker scored 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

Karissa LeCaptain (Algoma, Wis.) recorded 12 points and 9 rebounds.

Betsy MacDonald (St. Paul, Minn.) and Lexy Petermann (Fond du Lac, Wis.) each finished with 11 points.

Kenzie Kane led all players with 22 points for the Bulldogs.

The St. Cloud State women's basketball program returns to action next weekend as they host Bemidji State (6-1, 0-1 NSIC) on Dec. 4 at 6 p.m. and the University of Minnesota-Crookston (4-1, 1-0 NSIC) on Dec. 5 at 4 p.m. at Halenbeck Hall.
