SCSU Women's Basketball Earn Weekend Sweep with 70-67 Win over Crookston

St. Cloud, Minn. – The St. Cloud State University women's basketball took the court at Halenbeck Hall against the University of Minnesota-Crookston in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) action this evening. The Huskies pulled off a 70-67 win over the Golden Eagles.
With the win St. Cloud State improves to 3-3 overall and 3-0 in the conference. Minnesota-Crookston falls to 4-3 overall and 1-2 in the NSIC.
The Huskies battled to the end with the game consisting four tied scores and seven lead changes. St. Cloud State outrebounded Minn. Crookston 51-38. The Huskies forced 15 turnovers resulting in 20 points.
Senior forward Lexy Petermann (Fond du Lac, Wis.) recorded her second double-double of the season. Petermann led all players with 28 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. She made 5 of 11 from behind the arc and a collective 9 of 17 from the field.
Petermann also finished with two assists, two blocks, and two steals.
Senior forward Kyli Van Klei (Stillwater, Minn.) finished with 11 points and five rebounds. Van Klei made four of nine from the field.
Junior guard Chelsea Nooker (Green Bay, Wis.) led the Huskies with four steals and five assists.
Alison Hughes led the Golden Eagles with 16 points and three rebounds.
St. Cloud State will return to action next weekend as they take on Minnesota State University-Moorhead and Northern State University on Dec. 11 and 12. Moorhead is currently 6-0 overall and 3-0 in the NSIC. Northern State currently stands at 5-3 overall and 1-2 in the conference.
