SCSU Women's Basketball Falls to Minot State, 73-63

Minot, N.D. – The St. Cloud State women's basketball team faced off against Minot State in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) match up. The Huskies fell to the Beavers with a final score of 73-63.
St. Cloud State falls to 13-12 overall and 12-9 in the conference. Minot State improves to 11-16 overall and 8-13 in the NSIC.
Four St. Cloud State players recorded double-digits this evening.
Sophomore guard Andrea Thomas (Mauston, Wis.) recorded her first double-double of the season. Thomas finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds. She also had a team-high seven assists.
Senior forward Karissa LeCaptain (Algoma, wis.) added 12 points and 5 rebounds. LeCaptain made six of ten shots from the field.
Junior guard Chelsea Nooker (Green Bay, Wis.) recorded 12 points and 2 steals.
Junior guard Betsy MacDonald (St. Paul, Minn.) finished with 12 points and 3 assists.
Sarah Lester led the Beavers with 30 points.
Overall, St. Cloud State shot 40.9% from the field, 30.8% from behind the arc and 50% from the free throw line. Minot State shot 47.3% from the field, 37.5% from the three-point range, and 83.3% from the line. The Huskies outrebounded the Beavers, 37-32. St. Cloud State recorded their largest lead of the night at the 6:14 mark in the second quarter of nine points.
St. Cloud State will return to action tomorrow afternoon as they take on the University of Mary. The Marauders are 14-15 overall and 8-13 in the conference. The University of Mary is coming off a win over Minnesota-Duluth (81-75) this evening.
