SCSU Women's Basketball Drops to Winona State, 62-51

Winona, Minn. – The St. Cloud State University women's basketball team traveled to Winona, Minn. this evening to take on the Warriors of Winona State. The Huskies were defeated by the Warriors with a final score of 62-51.
St. Cloud State falls to 12-9 overall and 11-6 in the NSIC. Winona improves to 22-2 overall and 15-2 in the conference.
Overall, St. Cloud State shot 35% (21-60) from the field, 21.4% (3-14) from behind the arc and a perfect six of six from the free throw line. Winona State shot a 35.5 (22-62) field goal percentage, 26.9% from the three point range, and 57.9% (11-19) from the line. The Warriors outrebounded the Huskies, 47-35. St. Cloud State forced 15 turnovers, committing 11 as a team.
Four St. Cloud State players scored in the double digits this evening.
Senior forward Karissa LeCaptain (Algoma, Wis.) led the Huskies with 14 points. LeCaptain made 7 of 15 shots from the field and grabbed eight rebounds.
Junior guard Betsy MacDonald (St. Paul, Minn.) recorded 13 points, making 4 of 9 from the field. MacDonald led the Huskies in assists with four.
Chelsea Nooker (Green Bay, Wis.) and Andrea Thomas (Mauston, Wis.) each finished with 10 points. Thomas was perfect from the free throw line making four of four.
Connor Nagle led the Warriors with 20 points.
St. Cloud State will return to action tomorrow afternoon as they take on Upper Iowa University. The Peacocks are currently 5-18 overall and 4-13 in the NSIC. Upper Iowa is suffering from a 70-53 loss against Bemidji State this evening.
