Natalie Gottschalk Ranked Seventh in Heptathlon

MANKATO, Minn. – Sophomore Natalie Gottschalk is ranked seventh overall in the heptathlon and freshman Peter Bates is 15th in the decathlon after the first day of the NSIC Multi Event Championship on Sunday, May 1.
Gottschalk highest finish on the first day was fifth in the high jump with a leap of 1.51m. She also finished seventh in the 100m high hurdles (15.35) and the shot put (9.78). The long jump, the javelin and the 800m.
The highest finish for Bates was eighth in the 100m (11.56). Â The events on the second day for Bates will be the 110m hurdles, men's discus, pole vault, javelin and the 1500m.
Both outdoor track & field programs resume competition on Monday, May 2, in the second day at the NSIC Multi Event Championship from Mankato, Minn. on the campus of Minnesota State.
