Yalartai Wins A Pair Of Events At the Lee Krough Invite on Saturday

St. Peter, Minn. – Senior Patience Yalartai won a pair of events with freshman Bailee Brazerol and Dominique Buechel also coming up with event victories at the Lee Krough Invite on the campus of Gustavus Adolphus on April 15. The Huskies had those three event wins, two NCAA DII provisional marks and seven top-three finishes on the afternoon.
Yalartai won the triple jump with a 12.06m/39'07.00" and the long jump with a 5.71m/10'09.00. Her mark in the triple was an NCAA DII provisional mark.
Buechel won the discus with her throw 46.02m/151'00". The throw was also an NCAA DII provisional qualifying mark.
Brazerol won her the 100m (12.18). She was also the top finisher in the preliminaries of the race earlier in the day.
Fellow freshman Jocelyn Johnson placed second in the high jump (1.55/5'01.00").
The team had a pair of 4x400 relay teams place in the top three. The team of freshman Bridget Brown, freshman Kaylee Glover, freshman Hanna Shank and senior Kristen Wendt finished second with a 4:05.60. The team of freshman Autum Shurbert-Hetzel, senior Rachel Sakry, senior Kaylee Roelike and junior Maria Hauer finished third with a 4:14.65.
The SCSU team gets back in action and competes at the Holst Invite on April 22 on the campus on Concordia-St. Paul.
