Women's Hockey drops 1-2 overtime game on the road against Lindenwood

WENTZVILLE, MO - For the second game in a row, the Huskies and Lions would need more than regulation time on the ice to decide the game. The St. Cloud State women's hockey team (4-9-1, 2-6-0 WCHA) ended their game two in a weekend series against the Lindenwood University Lions (3-7-2, 1-4-1 CHA) with a 1-2 loss in overtime.
St. Cloud State trailed by one goal against Lindenwood until less than three minutes remained in Saturday's road game. The Lions scored scored first at 6:46 of the first period, goal by Jordyn Pimm, assisted by Lillian Marchant and Courtney Ganske.
Huskies' senior Hannah Potrykus scored her sixth goal of the season at 17:53 of the third period to tie the game and force the matchup into overtime. Potrykus's goal was assisted by Hannah Bates.
Lindenwood's junior forward Kirsten Martin scored the overtime winner for the Lions at 2:45 of the extra five-minute period to end the game. Martin's goal was assisted by Alexandra Larson and Hannah Alt and was her first goal of the season.
St. Cloud State goaltender Janine Alder stopped 40 shots in the game; Lindenwood's Jolene DeBruyn had 34 saves. Final shots on goal from today's game in Wentzville were SCSU 35, LU 42. St. Cloud went 0-2 on the power play and 2-0 on the penalty kill.
