
Women's Hockey On the Road for Second Weekend in a Row, Set to Face Lindenwood University

SCOUTING THE LIONS: Lindenwood comes off of a split series against Mercyhurst University. The Lions won 4-1 Saturday, Nov. 3 and fell to Mercyhurst 0-5 on Sunday, Nov. 4. LU goal scorer's on the weekend included Nicole Guagliardo, Megan Wagner, Hannah Alt, and Alexandra Larson. Lindenwood's point leaders this season are Sierra Burt (3g-5a), Taylor Girard (3g-4a), and Taylor Kirwan (1g-6a).
ALL-TIME SERIES: The Huskies are 7-1-0 all-time against the Lindenwood Lions and have not met since a series in Missouri in late 2015.
LAST WEEK: The Huskies were swept in a road series against the Ohio State Buckeyes last weekend; St. Cloud had a 2-3 loss Friday, Nov. 2 and another 2-3 loss Saturday, Nov. 3. Goal scorers were Julia Tylke (2g), Jenniina Nylund and Hallie Theodosopoulos. SCSU totaled 39 SOG in the series and the Huskies' goaltender Janine Alder made 78 saves in the weekend. St. Cloud went 0-4 on the power play and 3-0 on the penalty kill.

Silky Tylke: Senior Julia Tylke continues to rack up points on the score sheet; adding two more goals this past weekend. Tylke is in a two-way tie for third most point scorer in the WCHA with 14 points (5g-9a) in 12 games played. Tylke is the current SCSU point leader with 74 points (36g-38a).
Special Teams: SCSU is ranked third among WCHA teams and ninth in the nation on the power play going 5/25 with a 20.0 PP%. Senior Hannah Potrykus is the Huskies' leading power play goal scorer with three in 12 games. St. Cloud State holds a steady 73.0% (27/37) on the penalty kill as well.
Shot Blockers: St. Cloud State ranks second in the nation for team saves with 436 this season. Goaltenders Emma Polusny (So.) and Janine Alder (Jr.) have split most of their time on the ice this season. Polusny is 3-2-0 and Alder is 1-6-0 on the season. Of note, Polusny had a career-high 48 save game on Saturday, Oct. 27.
Two Huskies to Four Nations: SCSU sophomore goaltender Emma Polusny was selected to the U.S. Women's National Team and will travel to play in the Four Nations Cup Nov. 6-10 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Polusny has an 9-12-3 record in her two seasons at SCSU with a .932 SV% and 2.36 GAA. She is one of seven current WCHA players that will fill the Team USA roster. Freshman Jenniina Nylund continues to be the Huskies' top scoring newcomer. The Finnish forward has 11 points in 12 games (3g-8a) and is ranked second in the WCHA for freshman scorers. Nylund was called up last minute to the Finnish National team for the 2018 Four Nations Cup and played in the Team USA vs. Finland matchup Tuesday, Nov. 6.Â
