Gottschalk in second place after 1st day at Kansas Relays

St. Cloud State University junior Natalie Gottschalk completed her first day of events in the heptathlon at the 2018 Kansas Relay with an impressive second place ranking in the event standings on Wednesday, April 18. The day began with events in the 100 meter hurdles, high jump, shot put and 200 meters. The heptathlon will conclude on Thursday, April 19 with events in the long jump, javelin and the 800 meters. The Kansas Relay are taking place on campus of the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kan.
Gottschalk ranked second in the event standings with 2743 points after the first day of competition, while Hannah Vanbuskirk from Central Missouri led the pack with a first day tally of 2814. Gottschalk placed third in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 15.28 and then placed second in the high jump at 1.56m. In the shot put, Gottschalk was fifth on the day with a throw of 10.25m and she was fifth in the 200 meters at 27.11.
