Wong wins game again for UCONN to sweep St. Cloud Huskies

STORRS, CONN. - The St. Cloud State women's hockey team (0-2-0, 0-0-0 WCHA) were defeated 3-2 once again by the University of Connecticut Huskies (2-0-0, 0-0-0 Hockey East) in Storrs, Conn. Saturday, Sep. 29.
Scoring moved in reverse order from game one, as it was UCONN scoring first followed by back-and-forth ties. At 12:20 of the first period Morgan Wabick, assisted by Catherine Crawley and Briana Colangelo, scored her first goal of the season on a power play. Connecticut led St. Cloud 1-0 going into the second period.
The Midwest Huskies answered at 4:31 of the second period; Hallie Theodosopoulos scored her first goal of the season to even the score 1-1. Julia Tylke had the lone assist on that goal. UCONN, once again on the power play, took the lead soon after. Natalie Snodgrass at 5:19 put the puck past SCSU sophomore goaltender Emma Polusny.
Before the period was over, St. Cloud tied things up 2-2 leaving a fresh slate going into the final period. Hannah Potrykus scored her first goal of the season at 14:53 of the second period; Tylke on the SCSU assist once again.
The score remained 2-2 through much of the third period, but on their first even strength goal of the night, UCONN's Camryn Wong scored with less than three minutes left in the game, assisted by Crawley. For the second day in a row, Wong had the UCONN Huskies game winning goal.
Final shots on goal were SCSU 28, UCONN 35. Polusny made 32 saves, goalie Morgan Fisher had 26 saves for Connecticut. St. Cloud went 1-3 on the power play, UCONN went 2-4.
