Personal bests highlight strong Huskies performance at UW-Stout Open

Menomonie, Wisc. – St. Cloud State Track & Field enjoyed a fantastic team performance at the UW-Stout Open on Saturday, earning 10 top-ten finishes and four personal best marks. Paker Buske highlighted the day with a win and a personal best NCAA Provisional mark in the Triple Jump while she and Dacoda Zimmerman each gave the Huskies a pair of top-three event finishes.
Field Events
Dacoda Zimmerman started things out strong for the Huskies in the Weight Throw, placing second with a personal best 14.98m toss. She also earned third in the Shot Put with a mark of 12.11m. St. Cloud State's Long Jumpers placed three in the top five, led by Parker Buske taking second with an Indoor personal best 5.54m leap while Faith Lubner (5.41m) and Hannah Arason (5.34m) went four-five. Buske closed out the Field Events with her second straight win in the Triple Jump, covering a personal best 11.89m – a mark that clears the NCAA Provisional of 11.70m and currently places her 16th in the NCAA DII leaderboards. Maya Taylor joined Buske with another top-ten finish, landing seventh with a mark of 11.11m.
Track Events
Greta Freed and Cambrie Kowal began SCSU's Track showing by making their debuts in the 5000 Meter Run, finishing in 19:41.00 and 20:15.06 respectively. Shelby Romig placed third in the 60 Meter Hurdle Preliminaries with a 9.37s finish, going on to take fourth with a 9.38s Finals run. Clara Welhouse (16th, 5:47.03), Erica Conrad (18th, 5:56.35) and Lauren Sertich (19th, 5:58.41) all placed top-20 in the Mile. Makaylin Christenson landed in the top-ten with a personal best 1:02.19 seventh-place finish in the 400 Meter. She and Karla Encarnacion took 15th and 17th respectively in the 200 Meter.
