
St. Cloud State Women's Basketball Sneaks Past Minot State 57-55

Huskies win by two
MINOT, ND - The St. Cloud State women's basketball team strong effort payed off to sneak right past Minot State for a win Saturday afternoon. The Huskies came out on top by two points in a 57-55 victory over the Beavers. St. Cloud had two athletes score in the double-digits with Dru Henning leading the scoring charge with 16 points.
GAME SUMMARY
It did not start off great for the Huskies as Minot State set the pace to open with a 9-0 run followed by holding St. Cloud to just single digits in the first period of play. St. Cloud managed to chip away at the Beaver's lead in the second period to enter into the locker room down four points with a score of 30-26. Eight different Huskies added points to the board in the first 20 minutes of play.
The second half of the game was much closer contest. The largest lead Minot State held in the third quarter was just four points while the lead changed five times with the Huskies leading 42-41 heading into the fourth and final period. Tori Peschel nabbed a rebound who was able to find Kelsey Peschel for a driving layup which gave the Huskies a two point lead with 4:10 left. After a great offensive sequence by the Huskies, Jada Eggebrecht cashed in a three-pointer to give St. Cloud a four point lead with 19 seconds left. A buzzer beater three-point attempt by Minot State was blocked by Kelsey Peschel to give the Huskies the 57-55 win. Nine Huskies closed the day adding points to the board.

The Huskies will return home to Halenbeck Hall to close out the first half of the season before winter break. St. Cloud will host MSU Moorhead Friday, December 16 and Northern State Saturday, December 17.

- Dru Henning had an outstanding afternoon for the Huskies. The junior forward recorded a career high of 16 points going 5-8 from the floor with a 3-4 mark from behind the arc. Henning also grabbed four rebounds on the afternoon
- Jada Eggebrecht closed with 13 points and three rebounds
- Tori Peschel added seven points and seven rebounds
