
St. Cloud State Women's Basketball Falls to (RV) UMD

Huskies fall 64-55
DULUTH, Minn. - The St. Cloud State women's basketball team put up a hard fought battle with the (RV) UMD Bulldogs but fell just short Sunday afternoon. The Huskies dropped their second meeting with the Bulldogs 64-55. Eight different Huskies added points to the board.
GAME SUMMARY
It was a slow start for St. Cloud in the first period. The Huskies only put up seven points in the opening period of play while UMD put away 19 points. Despite being down 12 points, the Huskies fought back in the second period. St. Cloud closed the gap to just six points going into the locker room at half. The Huskies outscored the Bulldogs 13-7 in the second period. Six Huskies added points to the board in the opening half of play.
During the second half, the Huskies were looking to turn the game back in their favor. Thanks to a steal and three-point jump shot by Kelsey Peschel, the Huskies were only down 35-34 with 3:45 left in the third period. However, some fouls by the Huksies put the Bulldogs at the foul line where UMD was able to increase their. St. Cloud outscored UMD 21-19 in the third period but the Huskies still trailed 45-41 going into the final period of play. St. Cloud brought the game within two point early in the fourth period but were unable to get any momentum going while foul trouble plagued the Huskies lineup late in the game. In the end, the Huskies were unable to close the gap as they fell 64-55.

The Huskies will return to Halenbeck Hall on December 31 and January 1 for the make-up games with MSU Moorhead and Northern State. St. Cloud will take on MSU Moorhead December 31 at 1:00 p.m. and Northern State January 1 at 1:00 p.m.
