Huskies close 2022 with NSIC win
ST. CLOUD, Minn. - The St. Cloud State women's basketball team closed 2022 on a high note taking down the MSU Moorhead Dragons in an NSIC matchup. The Huskies downed the Dragons 80-62 at Halenbeck Hall.
GAME SUMMARY
Each team brought the momentum right out of the gate with the lead changing six times in the first period. The Huskies reclaimed the lead last to go up 25-22 after the first ten minutes of play. During the second period, the Huskies led by five points until the Dragon's defense doubled down. St. Cloud struggled as they only scored nine second half points while shooting .235 percent from the field. The Dragons out scored the Huskies 19-2 sending St. Cloud to the locker down 41-34.
Back on the court for the third, the momentum shifted back to the Huskies after a Jada Eggebrecht jump shot just outside the paint. St. Cloud out scored MSU Moorhead 20-7 holding the Dragons to .20 shooting percentage. In the fourth period, the Huskies extended the lead to the double-digits where they won by a 18 point margin for a final score of 80-62. Three Huskies scored in the double-digits.

The Huskies return to action tomorrow, January 1 to host Northern State in an NSIC matchup. The game will tip-off at 1:00 p.m. CT.

- Once again, Katrina Theis put up big numbers for the Huskies. The 5th year senior put up 27 points going 11-16 from the field and 5-7 from the foul line with seven rebounds and four steals
- Jada Eggebrecht scored in the double-digits for the sixth consecutive game with 18 points
- Jasmine Litt scored a career high 13 points going 4-8 from the field, 2-3 from behind the arc, and 3-5 from the foul line with four rebounds
