Theis Earns Third NSIC North Division Player of the Week Honors

Theis put up 53 total points, shot 22-39 (.564) from the field
ST. CLOUD, Minn. - It was quite the weekend for fifth year senior forward Katrina Theis as she was named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) North Division Player of the Week for the third time this season after her weekend performance. St. Cloud defeated Winona State 58-43 and Upper Iowa 64-57 for a weekend sweep and improved to 12-4 overall and 9-3 in conference play.

Once again, Theis put up big numbers for the Huskies. The fifth year senior averaged 26.5 points per game, 8.5 rebounds, and 2.0 steals in SCSU's weekend sweep of WSU and UIU. Theis shot 22-39 (.564) from the field and was 9-10 from the line. Additionally, Theis scored 31 points going 11-18 from the field, added nine rebounds, two assists, two blocks, and two steals in the Huskies win over Upper Iowa. Against Winona State, Theis put up 22 points with eight rebounds, and two steals.

Theis has been holding the top spot in the NSIC for field goal percentage. Her .566 is the best in the conference. Additionally, she is fourth in the conference for scoring averaging 16.6 points per game, sixth for rebounding averaging 8.0 per game, and sixth for blocks shots with 1.0 per game.

Theis and the Huskies will be back in action on Friday as they travel to Marshall, MN to take on Southwest Minnesota State for a 7:30 p.m. tilt.
