St. Cloud State Women’s Basketball Dominates in Conference Opener

Huskies get back in win column, take down Minnesota Crookston, 72-51
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Women's Basketball (4-1, 1-0 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference) delivered a convincing win in its first conference game of the season. The Huskies took down Minnesota Crookston (4-4, 1-1 NSIC) on Friday night in Halenbeck Hall.

The Huskies return to Halenbeck Hall tomorrow afternoon (Sunday, Dec. 2) to face off against Minot State. The game is set to tip-off at 5:30 p.m. CT. TOP HUSKIES
- Senior forward Jasmine Litt (Pulaski, Wis.) tied a game-high with 13 points. She knocked down 2-of-3 from three-point range and recorded a game-high eight rebounds, two steals and two blocks.
- Sophomore guard Jada Eggebrecht (Phillips, Wis.) scored 12 points and grabbed four rebounds.
- Sophomore forward Ashley Sawicki (Waunakee, Wis.) tallied 11 points, six rebounds and three blocks.
- Senior guard Morgan Draheim (Hortonville, Wis.) recorded six points, seven rebounds and a game-high six assists.
NOTABLES
- With the win, SCSU is now 33-8 all-time against Minnesota Crookston.
- SCSU led the game in field goal percentage (37.0%-33.3%), three-point percentage (42.1%-8.3%), field goals (27-20), three pointers (8-1), total rebounds (19-31—50 – 11-31—42), assists (19-5), steals (13-5), blocks (9-6), points off turnovers (20-13), second chance points (17-10) and bench points (26-10).
- UMC led in free throw percentage (71.4%-45.5%) and fast break points (10-2).
- Each team made 10 free throws and scored 30 points in the paint.
- St. Cloud State scored at least 17 points in each quarter.
- Litt took a career-high 12 field goal attempts and grabbed a career-high eight rebounds. She tied her season-bests in assists (two), steals (two) and blocks (two). She has scored double digit points in three consecutive games.
- Eggebrecht has scored double-digit points in eight consecutive game dating back to last year, her freshman campaign. She had scored 10+ points in 27 of her 32 games as a Husky. She tied her season-high for field goals made (six).
- Sawicki tied her season-high for points (11) and free throws made (three) and set a new season-high in free throws attempted (six). She has recorded at least two blocks in each of the last three games. She has grabbed at least six rebounds in four of the five games this year.
- Draheim set career-highs grabbing seven rebounds and dishing out six assists. She has made two three pointers in three straight games and has four-plus assists in three out of five games.
- Sophomore guard Alyssa Stamer (Hutchinson, Minn.) had a breakout game. She scored a career-high 10 points and set career-bests in field goals made (three), field goals attempted (five), three pointers made (two), three pointers attempted (three), free throws made (two) and free throws attempted and steals (two)
- Freshman forward Abigail O'Reilly (Elgin, Minn.) had a breakout game as well. She set new career-highs in
- Minutes (13), field goals made (three), field goals attempted (eight), rebounds (four) and blocks (one).
- Senior guard Makenna Vanzant (Farmington, Ark.) set a new season-high with two steals.
- Freshman forward Paige Lambe (Verona, Wis.) played a career-high 14 minutes. She also set new career-bests in free throws made (three) and free throws attempted (six) and steals (one). She has recorded a block in every game and two-plus blocks in four of the five games.
- Freshman guard Alana Zarneke (Appleton, Wis.) tied career-highs in assists (two) and steals (one).
