
St. Cloud State Women’s Basketball Completes Sweep of First Conference Weekend

Sawicki tallies first career double-double, Huskies take down Minot State 75-54
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Women's Basketball (5-1, 2-0 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference) completed the sweep of the opening conference weekend, taking down Minot State on Saturday evening in Halenbeck Hall in St. Cloud. The Huskies beat the Beavers (2-8, 1-2 NSIC) by a score of 75-54. The Huskies shot over 50% from the field and from behind the arc.

The Huskies hit the road for their first NSIC road weekend. They will play Northern State on Friday. Dec. 8 in Aberdeen S.D. and MSU Moorhead on Saturday, Dec. 9 in Moorhead, Minn. Friday's game is set to tip-off at 7:30 p.m. CT and Saturday's tilt is scheduled to start at 5:30. Live coverage will be available on the NSIC Network with live stats provided by each home team. TOP HUSKIES
- Sophomore forward Ashley Sawicki (Waunakee, Wis.) recorded a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. She also blocked three shots and had two steals.
- Sophomore guard Jada Eggebrecht (Phillips, Wis.) scored 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the field, 3-of-4 from three and 2-of-2 from the charity stripe.
- Senior guard Morgan Draheim (Hortonville, Wis.) scored 10 points on 4-of-6 shooting including 2-of-3 from three.
- Senior forward Dru Henning (Mukwonago, Wis.) tallied nine points (3-of-5 from three), four assists, four steals and three rebounds.
- With the win, SCSU is now 18-5 all-time against Minot State.
- SCSU led the game in field goal percentage (52.0%-41.7%), three-point percentage (52.9%-26.7%), field goals (26-20), three pointers (9-4), free throws (14-10), assists (18-12), steals (13-4), blocks (4-0), points off turnovers (26-7), points in the paint (30-22) and second chance points (6-2)
- UMC led in free throw percentage (83.3%-60.9%), total rebounds (9-22—31 – 7-21—28), fast break points (7-2) and bench points (28-16).
- St. Cloud State scored at least 14 points in each quarter.
- Sawicki recorded her first career double-double. She scored a career-high 15 points. She also set career bests in free throws made (seven) and free throws attempted (10). She tied season-bests of two steals and two assists. She has recorded at least two blocks in the past four games. She has recorded two blocks in each of the last two games. She has grabbed at least six rebounds in five of the six games. It was her second double-digit rebound game and third double-digit points output of the season.
- Eggebrecht has scored double-digit points in nine consecutive game dating back to last year, her freshman campaign. She had scored 10+ points in 28 of her 33 games as a Husky. She set a new season-bests with 19 points, seven made field goals and three made three pointers.
- Draheim has made two three pointers in four straight games and has scored in double-digits three times this season. She has recorded at least three assists in four of the six games so far this season.
- Henning set a new career-bests in steals (four) and season-bests in field goals made (three), three pointers made (three) and three pointers attempted (five).
- Senior forward Jasmine Litt (Pulaski, Wis.) tied a career-high with three steals.
- Freshman forward Abigail O'Reilly (Elgin, Minn.) set new career-highs in free throws made (four) and free throws attempted (six).
- Sophomore guard Alyssa Stamer (Hutchinson, Minn.) set a new career-best in minutes played (24) and tied her career-best for field goal attempts (five).
