St. Cloud State Women’s Basketball Drops Conference Road Opener in Overtime

Huskies fall to Northern State, 67-59
ABERDEEN, S.D. – St. Cloud State Women's Basketball (5-2 overall, 2-1 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference) dropped its first conference game, falling to Northern State, 67-59 in a game that went to overtime on Friday evening in Wachs Arena in Aberdeen.
The Huskies only scored double-digit points in one quarter and the Wolves (7-2 overall, 3-0 NSIC) scored double-digits in three quarters and in the overtime period. The Huskies burst out of halftime and scored 29 points in the third quarter, turning a 22-13 deficit into a 42-32 lead. Northern State would answer with 19 fourth quarter points to take the game into overtime and outscored the Huskies 16-8 in the overtime period, sinking seven of its eight free throw attempts in the final five minutes.

TOP HUSKIES
- Senior forward Jasmine Litt (Pulaski, Wis.) tied the team-high with 16 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field and 2-of-4 from beyond the arc. She also tied the team-high grabbing five rebounds in 26 minutes off the bench.
- Sophomore guard Jada Eggebrecht (Phillips, Wis.) tied the team-high with 16 points.
- Senior guard Morgan Draheim (Hortonville, Wis.) scored 13 points and added four rebounds and two steals.
- After the loss, SCSU is now 15-17 all-time against Northern State.
- SCSU led the game in three-point percentage (31.3%-18.8%), free throw percentage (90.9%-87.0%), three pointers (5-3), assists (11-9), steals (9-8) and bench points (23-8).
- NSU led in field goal percentage (37.9%-35.5%), free throws (20-10), total rebounds (11-30—41 – 10-26—36), blocks (4-3), points off turnovers (19-18), points in the paint (32-20), second chance points (9-6) and fast break points (2-0).
- The teams both made 22 field goals.
- Litt tied career-highs with seven field goals made and 12 field goal attempts. She has scored in double figured in four of the last five games.
- Eggebrecht has scored double-digit points in ten consecutive game dating back to last year, her freshman campaign. She had scored 10+ points in 29 of her 34 games as a Husky. She set a new career-high in minutes played (39). She set new season-bests in field goals made (seven – tie), field goals attempted (19) and blocks (one – tie).
- Draheim set new career-highs in minutes played (36), field goals attempted (16), three pointers attempts (six – tie) and steals (two – tie). She has made a three pointer in six of the seven games this season and has now scored 10+ points four times this season. She has six career games with two steals including four this season alone.
- Senior forward Dru Henning (Mukwonago, Wis.) tallied five points and a season-high five rebounds.
- Senior guard Tori Peschel (Sauk Centre, Minn.) started and played a season-high 32 minutes in her return to action after missing the last four games due to injury. She grabbed three rebounds, dished out three assists and recorded three steals. She tied season-highs in free throws made (two) and free throws attempted (two).
- Sophomore forward Ashley Sawicki (Waunakee, Wis.) tied her career-high playing 26 minutes.
