
Castor Signs with ECHL’s Florida Everblades

Castor played well in net for the Huskies in 2022-23, going 14-8-1 with 2.02 GAA and .924 S%
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Men's Hockey senior goaltender Jaxon Castor (Phoenix, Ariz.) has reached an agreement on an amateur tryout agreement (ATO) with the Florida Everblades of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL). Castor capped off his collegiate season with a remarkable season in net for the Huskies, earning spots on the All-Tournament teams for both the NCHC Frozen Faceoff and NCAA Fargo Regional.
Castor closed his collegiate season with a banner year, recording a 14-8-1 mark in net with a 2.02 goals-against average and .924 save percentage with four shutouts. His 2.02 GAA was the second-best mark in a single season in program history, while his four shutouts rank third and his .924 S% rank fifth. Nationally, he currently ranks fifth in GAA and eighth in S%.
He was named the NCHC Goaltender of the Month for March after being named to the All-Tournament teams for both the NCHC Frozen Faceoff and NCAA Fargo Regional, as he helped guide the team to its second Frozen Faceoff championship and an appearance in the regional championship game. Castor went 4-2 in six starts in March while posting a 1.67 goals-against-average and .936 save percentage. He had shutouts in the NCHC Frozen Faceoff championship game vs. Colorado College (17 saves) and in NCAA Tournament first round vs. Minnesota State (34 saves). His shutouts were the first shutouts at the NCHC Frozen Faceoff and NCAA Tournament in program history.
In four seasons for the Huskies, Castor went 20-16-1 with a 2.38 GAA and .910 S% in 43 games and 34 starts.
