
Paola Brena earns All-American honors, takes fifth at NCAA Championships

Brena becomes program’s 68th All-American with fifth place clear in the High Jump
PUEBLO, Colo. – St. Cloud State Track & Field graduate jumper Paola Brena earned her third collegiate All-American honor by taking fifth in the High Jump at the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Championships in Pueblo, Colorado on Friday evening. Brena cleared 1.71m to land fifth, becoming St. Cloud State's 68th All-American and the program's 40th at the Outdoor Championships.
Brena began her day by clearing the starting bar and each of the first two progressions without a miss, needing just two attempts to cover the third at 1.71m. She was one of just nine athletes to reach the fourth progression.
Her All-American honor in the High Jump places her among illustrious company, joining the legendary GiGi DesLauries as the second Huskies high jumper to become an All-American and the first since GiGi did so in 1991.
