Basse Named to Mike Richter Award Watch List

Basse named to the watch list for second consecutive season
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Men's Hockey senior goaltender Dominic Basse (Alexandria, Va.) was named to the Mike Richter Award Watch List, as announced by the Hockey Commmissioners Association (HCA) on Friday. The Richter Award is awarded annually to the top goaltender in NCAA Division I men's hockey. Basse is one of 32 goaltenders to be added to the watch list.
A committee of voters – made up of a cross section of coaches, administrators, scouts and media – will pair down the list to approximately 15 names before ultimately choosing the winner, who will be announced in April during the NCAA Frozen Four.
Basse has started 16 of 18 games in net for the Huskies this season, producing a 10-5-1 mark with a 2.14 goals-against-average and .915 save percentage with three shutouts. His 2.14 GAA and .915 S% both rank second in the NCHC, while the former ranks eighth in the NCAA. He is one of six netminders to record three or more shutouts this season and is one victory away from matching his career high for wins in a season.
