Huskies’ season ends with fifth shutout
St. Cloud, Minn- St. Cloud State Men's Soccer (9-8-1, 6-5-1 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) were defeated 3-0 in the GLIAC Quarterfinals against Purdue Northwest Saturday afternoon. The Pride struck quickly as they scored a goal in the 5th minute of the first half to take a 1-0 lead. The potent Huskies offense was held in check the entirety of the game as they could only muster seven shots in the game with only one landing on goal. St. Cloud State continued to battle late into the second half as they created offensive possessions in Pride territory, but were unable to translate those opportunities into shots. SCSU played a more aggressive style of offense to create more chances late in the second half, but Purdue Northwest was able to capitalize twice with two break opportunities in the final five minutes as they scored their second and third goals of the game to put the nail in the coffin. St. Cloud State fell 3-0 in their final game of the 2024 season.
