
Two First Half Goals Propels Huskies in 2-0 Shutout Against RV Purdue Northwest

St. Cloud State wins fifth consecutive game
St. Cloud, Minn.- St. Cloud State Men's Soccer (5-2-0, 3-0-0 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) extended their winning streak to five consecutive games after defeating receiving votes Purdue Northwest 2-0 Sunday afternoon. Mika Folstad got the party started for the Huskies in the 6th minute as he knocked in a ball deep in the box with his head. Folstad was set up by Nolan Pratumwon who delivered a deep ball to the left side of the field to Owen Worsdell who then skipped it across the field to Folstad in the box who banged it in the net. St. Cloud State held that 1-0 lead for most of the half until Noah Eklund dished the ball to Matt Greenland on a throw in who then found William Gonzalez in the box. Gonzalez took a few dribbles to his left before smashing a shot off his left foot that found its way into the bottom right corner for a goal in the 44th minute. Those two goals would be all the scoring necessary to get the win as St. Cloud State defeated the Pride 2-0.
