St. Cloud State Men’s Soccer Falls 3-2 in Tightly Contested Match Against St. Thomas

Caputo and Folstad each score a goal
St. Paul, Minn.- St. Cloud State Men's Soccer (0-2-0) were defeated 3-2 by St. Thomas Saturday afternoon. The Tommy's drew first blood with a goal coming at nearly the two-minute mark of the first half. The Huskies would create some offensive chances until Philip Caputo ultimately tied the game at the 22nd minute off assists by Yanis Smeg and Mika Folstad. The teams would go into the half tied 1-1, but coming out the break, St. Thomas would take a 2-1 lead after a goal by Faris Colic in the 49th minute. The two teams would continue to battle late into the second half before Folstad tied the game with a goal in the 77th minute off assists by Rhys Ward and Matt Greenland. St. Thomas was not fazed and would score three-minutes later in the 80th to lead 3-2. St. Cloud State continued to create opportunities but were unable to find the back of the net as they would be defeated 3-2 by St. Thomas.
