Huskies set seven new personal bests, four seasons best Friday

COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – St. Cloud State Track & Field won five events at the CSB Invitational, hosted by Saint Benedict and Saint Johns at The Donald McNeely Spectrum in Collegeville on Friday. The Huskies posted seven new personal bests and four season's best marks while placing third as a team.

The event winners for the Huskies were sophomore jumper/sprinter Zaria Stapleton (Nassau, Bahamas) in the 60 meters, junior sprinter Jenna Marxhausen (Two Harbors, Minn.) in the 200, sophomore distance runner Abbygail Nunez (South St. Paul, Minn.) in the 800, graduate jumper Elena Martinez-Rodriguez (Madrid, Spain) in the high jump and junior sprinter/jumper Myesha Thompson (Mount Horeb, Wis.) in the long jump. Marxhausen's time in the 200 (26.63) was a new indoor best and she also ran a season best time in the 400 meters (1:01.81), while Nunez ran a new season best time in the 800 meters (2:30.67). Stapleton ran a new season best time in the 200 meters (27.56).

Other new personal bests came from freshman Aliyah Horton and junior hurdler/pole vaulter/jumper Olivia Witt (Delano, Minn.) who each recorded new personal best times after running 8.26 and 8.95 respectively in the 60 meters prelims, freshman distance runner Campbell Slattery (Big Lake, Minn.) who ran 5:59.43 in the mile, freshman Jordyn Tozer in the shot put (9.67m/31-8.75) and sophomore thrower Kim Feller (East Helena, Mont.) in the weight throw (14.30m/46-11). Horton also set a new personal best in the long jump (5.01m/16-5.25), while sophomore distance runner MerriAnna Johnson (Osceola, Wis.) ran a season's best in the 1,000 (3:22.08).
