2022 St. Cloud State All-American Hannah Arason joins the Huskies Track & Field/Cross Country staff for her first season as the graduate assistant coach in 2022-23.

Grad transferring to SCSU for the 2021-22 Indoor and Outdoor seasons, Arason earned All-American honors as well as NSIC Newcomer of the Year laurels after winning the Heptathlon at the NSIC Championships. She also earned All-NSIC honors in the Javelin. Arason broke a meet and facility record at the Minnesota State Open in the Heptathlon prior to becoming the first SCSU multi athlete to become a NSIC Outdoor Champion since Heather Miller did so in 2009. The first-year Husky also qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships in the Pentathlon.

Arason earned a B.S. in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences from the University of Minnesota in 2021. Competing as a five-year member of the Gophers Track & Field program, Hannah was a multiple-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree while graduating fifth on the Minnesota Top-10 list in the Heptathlon (5,303) and eighth in the Indoor High Jump (1.75).

Raised in Grand Forks, North Dakota, Arason attended Red River High School and was a three-sport star for the Roughriders – earning six letters in Track & Field, four in basketball and three in volleyball. She was a 14-time North Dakota Class A State Track & Field Championship qualifier in the High Jump, Javelin and 4x400 Meter Relay. Arason won two state titles in the High Jump and two in the Javelin while earning three All-State and All-Eastern Dakota Conference honors. The 2015-16 Grand Forks Herald Female Athlete of the Year was a three-time All-Conference honoree on the basketball court, graduating as the Red River all-time assist leader.
