St. Paul, Minn. – The St. Cloud State University women's basketball team traveled to St. Paul, Minn. on Wednesday evening to take on the University of St. Thomas in a 7:30 p.m. exhibition game. The Tommies jumped out to a quick ten-point lead to start the contest and never trailed, ultimately downing St. Cloud State 66-56.

Jessica Benson (Grand Meadow) led all players in the game, scoring 20 points for the Huskies.

Sam Price (Eau Claire, Wis.) knocked down three, three-point shots in the second half to finish with 13 points on the night.

The Huskies fell behind 3-13 to start the game and trailed 22-33 at the half. A second-half run fueled by two Sam Price three-pointers and a Jessica Benson jumper caught SCSU up within five (50-55) at the four-minute mark. Turnovers and missed shots plagued the Huskies late in the half, giving the Tommies a ten-point victory.

Taylor Young led #5 ranked division three St. Thomas with 16 points.

St. Cloud State University will start their official season schedule on Sunday, Nov. 17 as they host Valley City State University at 2 p.m. in Halenbeck Hall.
