SCSU Women's Basketball Falls to Minnesota State, 91-78

Mankato, Minn. – The St. Cloud State women's basketball team traveled to Mankato, Minn. this evening in an Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) match-up. The Huskies fell to the Mavericks 78-92.
St. Cloud State falls to 9-2 overall and 5-2 in conference play. Minnesota State improves 8-3 overall and 5-1 in the NSIC.
Three St. Cloud State players scored in the double digits tonight. Junior forward Lexy Petermann (Fond du Lac, Wis.) led the Huskies with 24 points. Petermann finished with seven rebounds and made six of six from the line. Sophomore guard Betsy MacDonald (St. Paul, Minn.) finished with 22 points, two assists and three rebounds. Sophomore guard Chelsea Nooker (Green Bay, Wis.) collected ten points for the Huskies and three rebounds.
Jaymeson Moten led all players with 27 points for the Mavericks.
St. Cloud State shot 46% from the field and 71.4% from the free throw line. Minnesota State outrebounded the Huskies 42-27. The Huskies forced 20 turnovers compared to their own 12. St. Cloud State shot 54.5% from the field and the three-point range. The Mavericks recorded the largest lead with 7:23 left in the second by 17 points.
St. Cloud State returns to action tomorrow as they take on Concordia-St. Paul at 4 p.m. The Golden Bears are 7-5 over and 3-3 in conference play. Concordia-St. Paul is coming off a win this evening as they defeated Minnesota Duluth 75-70.
