SCSU Women's Basketball Tops U-Mary

Bismarck, ND – The St. Cloud State women's basketball team hit the road to Bismarck, ND to take on the University of Mary this evening. The Huskies defeated the Marauders 75-66.
St. Cloud State improves to 11-6 overall and 7-6 in conference play. The University of Mary falls to 7-12 overall and 5-8 in the NSIC.
The Huskies shot 93.8% from the free throw line making 15 of 16. The University of Mary shot 35.9% from the field while St. Cloud State shot 42.2%. The Huskies out rebounded the Marauders 43-38. St. Cloud State recorded 22 turnovers this evening.
Five St. Cloud State players scored in the double digits this evening.
Junior forward Karissa LeCaptain (Algoma, Wis.) led the Huskies with 18 points. LeCaptain made eight of twelve from the field and finished with five rebounds.
Guards Carley Jeffery (Cambridge, Wis.) and Chelsea Nooker (Green Bay, Wis.) both finished with 12 points for St. Cloud State. Jeffery made four of seven from the three point range and tallied three assists. Nooker finished with six rebounds and was perfect from the free throw line making 10 of 10.
Betsy MacDonald (St. Paul, Minn.) finished with 11 points.
St. Cloud State's final player to score in the double digits was Kyli Van Klei. Van Klei ended with 10 points for SCSU.
Lexy Petermann (Fond du Lac, Wis.) led all players with 15 rebounds.
Brittany Dietz led all players with 20 points for the Marauders.
St. Cloud State will return to action tomorrow evening as they travel to Minot, ND. The Huskies will take on Minot State at 4 p.m. The Beavers are currently 8-11 overall and 3-10 in conference play. Minot State fell to the University of Minnesota Duluth this evening with a final score of 60-72.
