SCSU Women's Basketball Drops to USF, 48-71

Sioux Falls, SD – The St. Cloud State women's basketball team traveled to Sioux Falls, SD for a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) match-up. The Huskies fell to the University of Sioux Falls with a final score of 48-71.
St. Cloud State falls to 12-8 overall and 8-8 in the conference. The University of Sioux Falls improves to 14-5 overall and 10-6 in the NSIC.
The Huskies shot 27.1% from the field compared to the Cougars 38.8%. The University of Sioux Falls outrebounded the Huskies 53-42. St. Cloud State committed 11 turnovers while USF recorded 14. The Cougars recorded their largest lead with 10:27 left in the second half of 29 points.
Sophomore guard Chelsea Nooker (Green Bay, Wis.) led the Huskies with 13 points. Nooker also recorded a team-high four steals and eight rebounds.
Freshmen guard Andrea Thomas (Mauston, Wis.) finished with eight points. Thomas made three of five from the field and collected two assists.
Sophomore guard Betsy MacDonald (St. Paul, Minn.) recorded seven points for St. Cloud State. MacDonald finished with two assists and two rebounds.
Taylor Varsho led all players with 17 points for the University of Sioux Falls.
St. Cloud State will return to action next weekend as they host Winona State University and Upper Iowa University on Feb. 6 and 7. Winona State is currently 15-5 overall and 11-5 in the NSIC. Upper Iowa is 6-14 overall and 4-12 in conference play.
