SCSU Women's Basketball Wins Battle Over Northern State, 61-59

Aberdeen, SD. – The St. Cloud State women's basketball team traveled to Aberdeen, SD to take on Northern State University. The Huskies defeated the Wolves in a close 61-59 game.
St. Cloud State improves to 14-9 overall and 10-9 in the NSIC. Northern State falls to 19-6 overall and 13-6 in conference play.
The Huskies shot 43.1% from the field compared to Northern State's 37.0%. The Wolves outrebound St. Cloud State 40-28. The Huskies forced 14 turnovers and committed nine. St. Cloud State led at the half 33-29. Betsy MacDonald was the driving force throughout tonights match-up against the Wolves recording 15 points in the second half.
Betsy MacDonald (St. Paul, Minn.) had an impressive game with a career-high 26 points. MacDonald made 10-14 from the field and made four of six from the three-point range. She recorded a team-high three steals.
Karissa LeCaptian (Algoma, Wis.) finished with eight points and two rebound for the Huskies.
Chelsea Nooker (Green Bay, Wis.) led the Huskies in rebounds with six.
Rachel Krogman led with 20 points for Northern State.
St. Cloud State will return to action tomorrow as they travel to Moorhead, Minn. to take on the Dragons at 4 p.m. MSUM is currently 12-10 overall and 11-7 in the NSIC.
