Huskies rally in 7th to gain a 6-5 win over Missouri Western

The Huskies trailed 5-1 heading into the final inning before staging their comeback that was capped by a two-run ground rule double by Alexis Jacobs that scored teammates Amanda Moncelle and Megan Conrads. Earlier in the inning, SCSU posted runs thanks to a two-run single by Moncelle that scored Brooke Bowlin and Haley McFarlane.
The Huskies other run was tallied in the fifth inning with a solo homer by catcher Morgan Emmans, which made the score 4-1. MWSU opened the contest by scoring solo runs in the first, second, fourth and fifth inning to take a 4-0 lead.
In the game, SCSU had eight hits and MWSU had 9 hits. Kylie Thomsen earned the complete game victory with nine hits allowed and one strikeout in the game.
SCSU will continue the tournament with a game against Nebraska Kearney at 9 a.m. on Feb. 23.
