The Huskies came out hungry as they outshot RIT 17-8 in the first period. Just six minutes into the game, Emma Bigham put the Huskies on the board with an assist from Janna Haeg. Goaltender Janine Alder stopped eight shots for the Huskies in the first period.
Forty-eight seconds into the second period, Olivia Cvar notched her first collegiate goal giving the Huskies a two goal lead. Cvar was assisted by Jenniina Nylund and Dana Rasmussen. Later in the second period, the Huskies took advantage of a powerplay opportunity when senior Abby Thiessen notched a goal giving SCSU a three goal lead. Janine Alder made eight more saves in the second period as the team poured sixteen shots on goal.
The third period was scoreless giving the Huskies a 3-0 victory. The Huskies had a total of 47 shots on goal, while Janine Alder made 8 saves in the third for a total of 24 saves in the game. This accounts for Alder's 5th career shutout.
