Track and field competes at CSB/SJU Invite

COLLEGEVILLE, MINN. - The St. Cloud State track and field team had a fantastic day of competition at the CSB/SJU Invitational at St. John's University in Collegeville, Minnesota. The team competed well and the day was full of a number of personal bests and top finishes.
Autum Shurbert-Hetzel came out ready to go after a week off taking first place in the women's 800 meter run, obtaining a new season best of 2:24.81.
In weight throw, Annie Falardeau achieved another new personal record of 14.68 meters (48'2"), beating her previous record from last week by almost three feet. Lauren Julian also obtained a new personal record in weight throw with a mark of 12.57 (41'3").
Junior Bridget Brown competed in the women's 600 meter dash where she took first place with a personal best time of 1:41.43.
Sophomore Faith Lubner competed in the 60 meter hurdles where she got a new personal record of 8.99 seconds taking first place. Following her in second place was sophomore Leighten Fischer who also obtained a new personal record of 9.28 seconds.
In the 400 meter dash, freshman Cassidy Lackovic took second place with a time of 1:01.15 seconds, a new personal record (PR) for her in the event.
Maya Taylor took first place in triple jump with a mark of 11.54M (37'10"), her second-best performance of the season.
Huskies also had personal bests from Bella Kraft and Chrissy Lofgren in the Women's 3000 meter run and 5000 meter run respectively.
Next weekend the team will be competing at the University of Minnesota for the Parents Day Invitational in their last meet before the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Indoor Track and Field Championships. The meet is set to begin at 10 a.m. in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
