Huskies compete in final meet before NSIC Championship

MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. - This weekend the St. Cloud State University track and field team was at the University of Minnesota, where the team competed in the Parents Day Open. The team competed well throughout the whole day, as the women achieved more personal bests and took the top spots in many different events just one week before the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Championship.

In the 60M dash, Emmy Burris took first place with a time of 7.72. Emma Baynes finished in third place with a time of 7.85 seconds.

Autum Shurbert-Hetzel obtained a personal record (PR) with a first place in the 1000M run with a time of 3:04.92.

In pole vault this weekend, Emma Gauret achieved a well-earned personal record of 9'8".
Â
Abby Jungwirth took second place in the long jump with a mark of 5.40 meters (17' 8.75').

Sophomore Maya Taylor took first place in this weekend's triple jump competition with a mark of 11.10 meters (36'5").

Cassidy Lackovic ran hard this week and recorded another PR in 400M sash with a time of 1:00.68.

In weight throw (unseeded) Annie Falardeau took third with a 13.25 meters (43'5.75"). Lauren Julian finished in fourth thanks to a PR mark of 13.05 meters (42' 9.75").

This weekend was a great tune up to better prepare the team for next weekend's NSIC Championships, which will take place at Minnesota State in Mankato, Minnesota. All of the women have worked hard this indoor season preparing for the conference meet. Next week the team will be back and ready to compete in Mankato, Minnesota at the NSIC Conference Championships Meet.
