
Huskies travel to Wisconsin for WCHA Quarterfinals

SCSU will play the Badgers in a best-of-three series March 1-3
About the Series:Â The Huskies are 0-4-0 against Wisconsin so far this season. UW holds an all-time leading record of 78-8-2 against the Huskies.Â
 Scouting the Badgers: In their last games, the Badgers tied in both of their final games of the regular season against Ohio State University. Wisconsin finished the regular season 28-4-2, 18-4-2 and second in the WCHA with 56 points. Leading point scorers for the Badgers are Annie Pankowski (17g, 20a), Abby Roque (9g, 27a), and Sophie Shirley (19g, 16a). Goaltender Kristen Campbell has played in all of UW's 34 games this season and has earned a 28-4-2 record with a 1.15 GAA and .932 SV%.
Last Games Out: St. Cloud State played their last games of the regular season Friday, Feb. 15 and Saturday, Feb. 16. The Huskies were swept by the Bemidji State Beavers by score of 2-4 and 1-2 (OT) in the weekend. Against the Beavers, SCSU combined for 39 shots on goal in the weekend. Goaltenders Janine Alder (Friday 26) and Emma Polusny (Saturday 33) made 59 saves for the Huskies in the series. SCSU went 0-6 on the power play and 3-3 on the penalty kill.
St. Cloud State ended their regular season with a 10-23-2, 5-19-0 WCHA record.
Shot Blockers: St. Cloud State ranks second in the nation for team saves with 1342 this season. Goaltenders Emma Polusny (So.) and Janine Alder (Jr.) have split most of their time on the ice. Polusny is 6-10-1 and Alder is 4-13-1 on the season. Of note, Polusny had a season-high 49 save game on Friday, Feb. 1 against Ohio State, and Alder had a season-high game in saves against the Bulldogs in Duluth with 51 Feb. 9, 2019.
Silky Tylke: Senior Julia Tylke will leave St. Cloud State as one of the program's top ten leading point scorers after her assist against Bemidji State Feb. 15. Tylke has 41 goals, 40 assists, and 81 points.
Nationally Ranked Netminding: Goaltender Janine Alder ranks second in the WCHA and sixth in the nation in save percentage. She has allowed 45 goals on 725 shots in 18 games played this season, averaging a .938 SV%. Alder also ranks seventh in WCHA GAA at 2.50.
Emma Polusny also ranks among WCHA goaltenders as fifth in SV% (.923) and 10th in GAA (3.22). Polusny is 20th in the nation in save percentage.
