
SCSU women's tennis receives ITA All-Academic Awards for 2020

The St. Cloud State University women's tennis team has been named as an Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team award winner and four Huskies have been named as ITA Division II Scholar-Athletes for the recently completed 2020 season.
This year's SCSU ITA Scholar-Athletes are senior Jill Kedrowski (St. Cloud, Minn/Tech H.S.), sophomore Katherine Muntifering (Sartell, Minn./Sartell H.S.), junior Abby Scheck (Delano, Minn./Delano H.S.) and sophomore Olivia Fredrickson (Fridley, Minn./Fridley H.S.).
Kedrowski has received All-NSIC and Academic All-NSIC honors throughout her career at SCSU and is a life science education major. Fredrickson earned ITA Academic honors in 2019 and NSIC All-Academic status in 2020 for the Huskies. She is a film studies major at SCSU. Scheck has also received ITA and NSIC academic honors and is an operations management major at SCSU. The group is completed by Muntifering, who is a social work major at SCSU.
Of note, this marks the fourth consecutive season that SCSU has received ITA All-Academic Team honors. The Huskies were led in 2020 by second-year head coach Berit Merrill.

Academia is a key aspect of the college tennis experience and collegiate tennis players add to the rich intellectual community found on college campuses across the nation. Student-athletes continue to exceed expectations in the classroom and on the court. In 2020, 762 Division II Women student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete and 129 women's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must meet the following requirements:
- have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year
- be listed on the institutional eligibility form
To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must meet the following requirements:
- have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale),
- all student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form, and
- all varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year
