St. Cloud State Tennis Defeated 6-1 in Regular Season Finale Against Sioux Falls

Huskies season comes to a close
Sioux Falls, S.D.- St. Cloud State Tennis (4-11, 1-8 NSIC) concluded their season Sunday morning as they were defeated 6-1 against Sioux Falls. The Huskies dropped the doubles point and then were defeated in five of the six singles matches.

Doubles
St. Cloud State was defeated in all three doubles matches as Sioux Falls took the point. Lara-Maria Schaefer and Claudia Muñoz Perez were defeated 6-3 in the No. 2 spot. The Cougars would clinch the doubles point off a 6-2 win in the No. 1 position. Gibby Chapman and Brooklyn Broadwell battled in the No. 3 spot, but would ultimately fall 7-5.

Moving into singles play with a 1-0 deficit, SCSU was defeated in five of the six singles matches with four of the five losses coming in straight sets. Muñoz Perez took on Chloe Siegfort in the No. 1 spot where she would take the set 6-4. Siegfort would respond with a tiebreaker win in set two and would ultimately take the third set in what was a competitive match. Oriana Grott dropped the first set of her match in the No. 3 spot, but bounced back with a 6-4 win in set two to force the deciding third set. Grott battled back and forth with Sydney Osburn and would go on to win 11-9 for the lone Huskies win. Sioux Falls would come away with a 6-1 victory.
