Huskies Men’s Soccer opens GLIAC play on road

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Men's Soccer begins its inaugural conference season with a pair of Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference matches at Davenport on Friday and Purdue-Northwest on Sunday. The two contests mark the Huskies' first games in the GLIAC before beginning a seven-game homestand next weekend.
Friday's game against Davenport will start at 6:00 p.m. CST, while Sunday's game at Purdue-Northwest will kick off at 2:30 p.m. CST. Live streaming and live stats will be available through each respective institution's website and will be provided through the SCSUHuskies.com men's soccer schedule page.
The Huskies enter GLIAC play with a 1-1-1 road record and are led in the scoring department by Emmanuel Iwe. The sophomore's three goals place him second in the conference, while Eddie Saydee and Jake Leonard share the SCSU assist lead with two. Evan Marquess and Justice Sikkema each have scored twice for Davenport, with Ryan Moran and Isaiah Nieves adding two goals apiece on the Purdue-Northwest side. Gage Steiner (1.56 GAA, .733 SV%), Matthew Janke (73:54 scoreless minutes) and Dawson Fairchild (1 W) have shared keeping duties thus far for St. Cloud State.
Following their weekend road trip to Michigan and Indiana, the Huskies will host their GLIAC home opener on Friday, September 24 against Northwood at 7:00 p.m. CST.
