
SCSU Men’s Soccer battles Northwood and Saginaw Valley State at home

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Men's Soccer continues GLIAC play with a pair of conference tilts against Northwood and Saginaw Valley State at Husky Stadium this weekend, marking the opening of a seven-game homestand for the Huskies.
Friday's game against Northwood will start at 7:00 p.m. CST, while Sunday's finale with Saginaw Valley State is set for an 11:30 a.m. CST start. Live streaming and live stats and will be provided through the SCSUHuskies.com men's soccer schedule page. Friday's match will be broadcast on the KVSC Sports Stream while Sunday's game will be carried on 97.5 FM RadioX. The first 25 students in attendance for the Northwood matchup will receive a SCSU Dog Pound T-Shirt. Sunday's game will be a Youth Day game, with kids ages 13 and under receiving free admission while the Huskies will host postgame autographs on the field following the conclusion of the match.
The Huskies enter the homestand with a 1-4-1 road record and are led in the scoring department by Emmanuel Iwe. The sophomore's four goals place him second in the conference while he, Eddie Saydee and Jake Leonard share the SCSU assist lead with two. Gage Steiner (1.56 GAA, .733 SV%), Matthew Janke (76:40 scoreless minutes) and Dawson Fairchild (1 W) have shared keeping duties thus far for St. Cloud State. Saginaw Valley State's Brady Walker is tied with Iwe for second in the GLIAC scoring race with four goals, while Northwood features conference save leader Robert Gjelaj at keeper.
Following their weekend home slate, the Huskies will continue their homestand with tilts against Parkside and Northern Michigan on October 1 and 3.
