QUOTABLES - Head Coach Sean HolmesÂ
"Tonight was a pretty positive performance but the result wasn't what we wanted in the end. Our primary goal was to protect the health and welfare of our guys who have to journey to Grand Rapids, MI to play Davenport in the playoffs. Really pleased with Noah Kantorowicz's performance who played the full 90 in the back. Gage Steiner was as always excellent. It was a good opportunity for a lot of the young guys to stake a claim for the future as we are always thinking short term and long term in our development as a program. Congratulations to Upper Iowa for finishing their season on a positive note. We created enough chances in both halves to put the result away but weren't "quote on quote" not finishing to get the goal to go ahead or to tie late in the game. Again, I thought Riley Wood, Jake Leonard, and Yuken Harmon were terrific on the night. We now get back to work to prepare ourselves for Sunday's game. Last year we did not make the playoffs but this year we did. That's how we measure our progress as we move forward. All in all I was content with our effort just three days after a double weekend but this what you have to do if you want to make yourself into a nationally ranked program."Â
