St. Cloud State Men's Soccer Makes Postseason Play for First Time in Program History

ST. CLOUD, Minn. - St. Cloud State men's soccer will make an appearance in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Tournament for the first time in program history. The Huskies will face Davenport in the quarterfinals Sunday, October 30 at 11:00 a.m. CT. in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The Huskies closed a successful regular season. Redshirt senior goalkeeper Gage Steiner has played a critical role for St. Cloud this season. Steiner has held strong in the GLIAC rankings all season. He currently ranks 2nd in the GLIAC for saves with 56 on the season. The goalkeeper was named GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week (Oct. 3) for his shut out against Upper Iowa (Oct. 2). The shut out was St. Cloud's first ever shutout in conference play. Sophomore midfielder Philip Caputo has been a stand out player this season. Caputo leads the Huskies in scoring with five goals on the season. He currently ranks fifth in the GLIAC for goals with five and fifth for points with 13.
