St. Cloud State Women's Basketball Bounces Back Against Northern Michigan

ST. CLOUD, Minn. - The St. Cloud State women's basketball team bounced back to against the Northern Michigan Wildcats Saturday afternoon in Marquette, MI. After a hard fought battle the Huskies knocked down the Wildcats 55-51. Dru Henning and Tori Peschel lead the Huskies scoring charge with 13 points apiece.Â
GAME SUMMARY
St. Cloud State's offense went to work right off the bat to go on a 6-0 scoring run. The Huskies held the lead for the entire first half while holding the Wildcats to a 23.3 shooting percentage. Katrina Theis and Tori Peschel lead the scoring with six points each sending the Huskies into the locker room with a 28-23 lead.Â
The Wildcats started to gain momentum as they tied the game at 30 with 4:18 left in the third period which extend to a two point lead. Dru Henning sank two free throws to tie the game 37-37 with 36 seconds left in the third thanks to a foul by Northern Michigan. The fourth period was a tight contest as the Huskies largest lead of five points was chipped away by the Wildcats. With 1:41 to go, St. Cloud held the lead until Northern Michigan nabbed a layup to put them up by one. Dru Henning was sent to the foul line with 45 second left where she sank both of her shots to give the Huskies a one point lead. Shortly there after, Henning was able to capitalize on a turnover by Northern Michigan by sinking a three-point jump shot with 13 seconds left to seal the Huskies 55-51 victory.Â

The Huskies will head back to Halenbeck Hall Thursday, December 1 to take on Bemidji State for a NSIC match-up. The game is set for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off.Â
