St. Cloud State Women's Basketball Knocks Down Bemidji State 68-42

ST. CLOUD, Minn. - The St. Cloud State women's basketball team showed Bemidji State who is the best along the Mississippi. The Huskies put on a commanding performance to come out on top 68-42 over Bemidji State. Katrina Theis made a big impact in the Huskies win leading with 23 points and 15 rebounds for her second double-double of the season.
GAME SUMMARY
The Huskies opened up the game with the lead but the Beavers were right on their tail. With just over two minutes to go in the first half, Bemidji State tied the game at 22 until St. Cloud went on a seven point unanswered scoring streak. The Huskies entered their locker leading 31-26 at half. Katrina Theis and Jada Eggebrecht put in work in the first 20 minutes of play. They each lead with with 13 points on offense while Katrina Theis grabbed eight rebounds.
Going into the second half, the Huskies took their lead and ran with it. Bemidji State managed to get within two points half way through the third period but that sparked the Huskies to grow their lead into the double digits. St. Cloud closed the night with a 26 point margin over the Beavers for a 68-42 finish. The Huskies defense held Bemidji State to just a 17.4 shooting percentage in the second half with the Beavers only making one of their six three-pointers in the fourth period. Two Huskies scored in the double-digits and one double-double.

Over the past two games, the Huskies defense has been a dominate force. St. Cloud held Bemidji State to just a 23.4 shooting percentage from the floor for the game while holding them to 7.7 field goal and 16.7 three-point shooting percentage in the fourth period. This is the second game in a row where the Huskies defense has held an opponent to shoot under 30 percent. Last weekend, St. Cloud held Northern Michigan to a 27.8 shooting percentage, including a 20 three-point shooting percentage.
